The Kennedy Center, Inc. is a nationally acclaimed organization that provides comprehensive services to more than 1,200 persons with disabilities and special needs in Connecticut. The Kennedy Center has proven its committment to excellence through the receipt of numerous awards and recogintions.

    Caring for the Caregiver Program is named the Silver Award Winner for Innovation from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Partnership

  • 2005
    Kennedy Center receives the Christine M. Lewis Award for Excellence from the Connecticut Department of Social Services

  • 2004
    Our Therapeutic Leisure Manager is named to the Best Buddies of Connecticut
    Advisory Board

  • 2002
    Our Therapeutic Recreation Program receives the Connecticut Down Syndrome
    Congress Award of Excellence

  • 2000
    HUD names KennedyCenter one of top 1,000 in management excellence in the
    U.S. and one of 9 in Connecticut

  • 1999
    Received $1 million and a federal grant with The Workplace Inc to accomplish
    case management for 3,000 participants in Welfare to Work and TANF program

  • 1999
    Received a perfect rating/accreditation from CARF in both 1999 and in 2002. 
    Only agency in CT to ever receive a perfect rating; placed in top 1% in U.S.

  • 1999
    Evelyn Kennedy receives the first CT Treasure Award from Lt. Governor Jodi Rell

    Evelyn Kennedy and The KennedyCenter receive one of six nationwide Special
    Achievement awards from the National Rehabilitation Awareness Foundation
