Senior Job Coach - Supported Employment

Salary: $ 13.45 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Intervene with behavioral, clinical and crisis supports with all assigned consumers.
  • Implement a wide range of vocational, community, leisure and daily living activities with individual with major behavioral deficits.
  • Provide assessment, training and counseling in the areas of: self-care; medication/health management; task completion; communication and interpersonal skills; socialization; sensory/motor skills; problem solving skills; vocational skills (attendance, compliance, attention span, etc.); and judgment and reasoning.
  • Implement behavioral interventions and crisis supports for assigned individuals.
  • Participate as a member of the Code Blue team at designated site.
  • Act as liaison for consumers to funding source, employer, and case manager.
  • Provide one-to-one supervision of designated consumer (s) and group support for enclaves as assigned.
  • Complete functional assessments for potential employment, social and recreational opportunities.
  • Complete case management functions as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Psychology, Human Services, or related field. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Three years job coaching experience at The Kennedy Center with persons that are dually diagnosed and/or have diagnoses of autism, four years job coaching in a vocational rehabilitation setting.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disabilities.
  • Valid Drivers License and ability to possess a State of CT Public Service License.
  • You are required to be in possession of a car on site during your entire shift to transport yourself and/or consumers to community sites in all weather conditions and throughout all neighborhoods.
  • Depending upon assignment, must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions and locations.
  • Must maintain CPI, CPR, First Aid and DDS Medication Administration Certifications.
  • Must be able to intervene physically and successfully during a crisis situation.
  • Knowledge and skills in Word, Excel and the internet.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Provide hands on personal care which may include toileting, feeding, cleaning and all other activities of daily living skills.
  • Ability to transfer individuals requiring personal hygiene care.
  • Have physical endurance to use physical crisis intervention techniques.
  • Provide physical interventions which may include lifting, mobility, first aid and safety evacuations.
  • Move and lift weights up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
