Youth Enrichment & Family Services Coordinator

Salary: $35,100


  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of contracted services for the Lighthouse after school and Summer support services and other designated sites to include but not limited to the supervision of staff for children with disabilities, behavioral challenges and/or at risk.
  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of recreational programs for children of diverse abilities and disabilities.
  • Supervise the Positive Parenting Program (“Triple P”) Parent Educator(s), including weekly meeting and consultation as necessary and attend monthly case review meetings with DCF.
  • Carry a minimum of three Triple P cases a year in accordance with Triple P regulations and timeframes.
  • Conduct assessments, intakes and other pertinent meetings with families for children interested in programs and services.
  • Oversee staff and implement recreational programs for children of diverse abilities and disabilities.
  • Oversee and monitor case management, program billing and finances.
  • Provide direct care to children when coverage is needed.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Education, Psychology or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Must be eligible for Certification in Triple P.
  • Experience working with children with behavioral health needs and other disabilities and challenges required.
  • Experience training and working with families and caretakers preferred.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations preferred.
  • Valid State of CT Drivers License.
  • You are required to be in possession of a car on site during your entire shift to transport yourself and/or consumers to community sites in all weather conditions and throughout all neighborhoods.
  • Must maintain CPI, CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must have physical endurance and skills to participate in community play groups/recreation/social programs/classes for up to four hours.
  • Knowledge and skills in Word, Excel and the internet.

* There are 8 weeks where this position will be assigned to other responsibilities due to program funding.
