Parent Aid*
Our Parent Aid program provides home-based support, advocacy and education to families under stress or whose children are at a risk of child abuse and/or neglect. By developing a non-judgmental and nurturing relationship and assisting in mobilizing personal resources, our team provides the support to help a parent succeed often under very difficult circumstances.

About Our Services: Our Parent Aid program provides home-based support services, advocacy, and education to families under stress or whose children are at risk of child abuse and/or neglect. By developing a non-judgmental and nurturing relationship and assisting in mobilizing personal resources, our team provides the support to help a parent succeed often under very difficult circumstances. Our Parent Aid program is a member of the Parent Aid Coalition of Connecticut and is fully funded through Connecticut's Department of Children and Families.
What Will Happen: We will meet with you to assess what the specific needs are.
Our staff will work closely with you in finding community supports and resources that will give you needed information along with long-term support.
Services can help a family:
- Develop realistic expectations of children and their needs
- Develop positive parenting skills
- Learn effective discipline techniques
- Develop and enhance problem-solving skills
- Improve communication skills
- Learn effective home management skills
- Increase awareness of community resources
