What We Do
Acquired Brain Injury/Neurological Impairments
The Kennedy Center's Acquired Brain Injury Program serves individuals 18 years of age and older, who have either a traumatic or an acquired brain injury that may be a result from many different causes such as blunt force trauma to the head, stroke or anoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain). The Kennedy Center has supported individuals who have injuries as a result of motorcycle/motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, falls, chemical toxicity, severe concussion, and objects hitting the head, just to name a few.
The ABI Program accepts referrals from funding sources such as DSS ABI Medicaid Waiver, Money Follows the Person/MFP, worker’s compensation insurance companies, privately funded contracts and private pay.
