One to one non-vocational supports are available to assist adults with disabilities to access the community, build social skills, improve health and fitness, develop leisure skills and/or provide respite from work. Funding may be available through DDS or the individual may private pay at waiver rates.
Activities can include participating in exercise programs such as walking, yoga, swimming/water aerobics or working out at the YMCA; taking computer or reading instruction; becoming involved in programs at local senior centers; taking a college course or learning a new skill such as photography; going to museums or on outings or volunteering at a community site. Support can take place in the home or community around the needs and schedule of the individual.
